The La Junta Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that we will be partnering with La Junta Primary School for our 1st Annual Mother's Day Poetry Contest.
The poetry contest is open to students K-2, pick up a registration form at the La Junta Chamber of Commerce, also more information will be sent home to K-2 students this week so be sure to check your kiddos backpack. Registration and poetry entries can be dropped into the Mother's Day Poetry boxes located near the office at La Junta Primary or at the La Junta Chamber of Commerce.
One winner will be selected from each grade and their #mamas will receive a spectacular gift package courtesy of our Mother's Day Poetry Contest Sponsor - Auxillium LLC! We can't wait to see the creativity of entries!

La Junta Primary School Awards Ceremony 2023 - Save the date!
Have you heard the buzz about LJPS's Walking Team?
The idea started in our Life Skills Department and from there was brought to life. There are approximately 130 to 135 students participating. After the first week students walked a total of 156 miles combined. Every lap the students walk, they earn a bead toward a keychain they can make on their own time as an incentive.
A Social Contract was created by the students involved and they came up with:
- Encourage Others
- Be Helpful
- Be Kind
- Respect Others Personal Space
- No Hurtful Words
- Good Sportsmanship
and last but certainly not least...
- HAVE FUN!!!

Kindergarten Roundup Information below!
**ALL PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO COME TO KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP ON APRIL 10TH ANYTIME BETWEEN 10AM-4:30PM.
Parents/Legal Guardians, you can register your upcoming Kindergarten student online ahead of time by using one of the links below which can speed up the registration process. If you do not have a computer or smart device at home, there will be computers available for you to use at Roundup.
Parents/Guardians will have additional paperwork to fill out in person.

LJPS 3rd Quarter Grade Reports and Picture Orders are being sent home with students tomorrow, March 16th. Please check their back packs! If your student is absent or if they leave early, they will receive both after we return from Spring Break on March 27th. Thank you!
