Tonight is the SoCo FroYo Fundraiser for LJPS from 4pm-9pm. 15% of all proceeds is given back to the school for student and school activities/needs. Thank you for your continuous support throughout the year!

LJPS half days of school on May 24th and 25th. Students will be released at noon. NO lunch will be served either of these days. The Last Day of School is May 25th.
LJPS Field Day is tomorrow, May 23rd at Tiger Field from 9AM-2PM.
We would like to recognize these students who had participated in a new elective this year called Connecting Stripes Mentoring Program!
La Junta High School and Tiger Trades Academy had 17 students serve as Tiger Mentors in our peer-to-peer mentoring program. They were matched with multiple K-6 students to provide social and emotional support. A total of 42 students from the La Junta Primary and Intermediate schools participated. Our K-6 students who participated increased their self-esteem, confidence, and emotional regulation skills.
Our high school students learned skills around communication, patience and understanding and age-appropriate interactions. These high school students were great role models and leaders during their time as a mentor, on and off campus! We are so excited to bring this program back next year and to help even more students!!
Thank you to all of the K-6 teachers and staff for allowing us to be a part of your school. A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Borton for your help with the high school students and to Miss Romero for building the mentoring program from the ground up!
