La Junta Intermediate School
Hello,
Unfortunately, due to illnesses including some positive COVID and Influenza cases within our Intermediate School, we are going to forego in person learning and implement remote learning until Monday, January 24th. We feel that to do our best to mitigate the further spread, it is in the best interests of our students and staff to take this path and be proactive.
Students will be given their chromebooks this afternoon upon leaving school but will not begin classroom activity until Wednesday, January 19. If your child has been absent, his or her chromebook can be picked up on Tuesday from 9-12 at the Intermediate building. Teachers will be getting their google classrooms ready tomorrow and preparing for remote classes that will happen on Wednesday and Thursday. The building will be closed beginning at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 18th, to deep clean and disinfect.
If you have students that are absent please bring their things down to the office with their name on it. Parents can pick them up from 9-12 in the office.
Chartwell will do a distribution on Tuesday and Thursday from 11-1 in the staff parking lot.
We will be bringing you a letter to send home with your kids in a few minutes.

Due to the electrical outage we are canceling classes for the remainder of the day. Buses will run at 9:30 a.m. and any parent who wishes to pick up their student may do so at any time. Students with no safe place to go may stay at the buildings until pick up arrangements are made.
