East Otero School District (“District”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This
Privacy Policy applies when you are using the website located at lajuntaschools.org and
is guided by federal and state laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act (FERPA) and the Student Data Transparency and Security Act. You should review
this policy to be familiar with the District’s methods of collecting and using your personal
information as well as circumstances when the District may share it. By using the
website, you consent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. The Privacy
Policy is subject to change at any time. At the time of a material change, the date of the
change will be posted on this page.
Collection of Personal Information
When you send us an email, submit an online or paper survey response, or complete a
form, you may be asked to share personally identifiable information, such as your email
address, name, home or work address or telephone number. The District may also
collect anonymous demographic information from an online form on the District website,
which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests,

the District website. Like most standard website servers, we use website statistic

(Secured Sockets Layer) available. Servers that store personally identifiable information
are in a secure environment. Under no circumstances are credit card numbers
permanently stored on our website servers.

Additional Information
The Board of Education has adopted policies JRCA, JRCB, and JRCB-R relating to
student data privacy and security to establish clear expectations for how student
personally identification information is used by the District, the Colorado Department of
Education, and vendors. The District also maintains a webpage that discloses a list of
vendors that are subject to the District’s privacy and security policies.
Employees should review and are expected to understand and follow District
policies for the use of the network, email, social networking, and internet use for the
District.
